For the third time Ukrainian and foreign ambermen were  brought together by the wings of "amber firebird" - October 19-20, Rivne hosted the Third International scientific conference "Ukrainian Amber World" (Yesterday and Today of Amber Road).

Scientists of Ukraine, Poland, Belarus and Russia were able to discuss problems of development of deposits of amber, but also the role that the state plays, science, private initiative and enthusiasm in the production and use of "sun stone".

"We have assembled leading experts in the study of amber, so that, in particular, to give impetus to new research, identify directions of modern processing of gemstone and present projects thanks to which  the products will be the kind of visiting card of our country in Europe" – said while opening the forum, chairman of the Rivne Region State Administration Vasyl Bertash.

The topic of the current conference - Amber Road - History and Modernity should remind the participants that they pave the modern ways that have already linked or will link Ukraine with all continents in the future.

And the strategic direction of scientific, cultural and tourist ties along with Russia is for us Poland too, the country of world amber capital, and in which the use and processing of amber has deep roots and long traditions. "We are glad that Rivne is on the European Amber Road. There are three common things for the Polish and Ukrainian peoples - love for freedom, amber and Euro 2012. I wish the Rivne region Volodymyrets became this year the place of legally produced amber, Ukraine joined the European Union and in the final of Euro 2012 ther were Poland and Ukraine"- words that are not only encouraging, but also calling for action said Robert Pitlos, coordinator of amber projects at the President of the city of Gdansk, Republic of Poland.

The third conference differed from the two previous ones in the following:

- First, the ambermen moved from the capital of the state to the capital of the Amber Region - to the city of Rivne;

- Second, on-line broadcasting: for the first time in the conference, scientists from all over the world and everyone who wished were able to watch on the web-site online.

- Third, the conference there was a meeting of the discussion club on "Shall be given a permission for mining amber in nonindustrial way to local people" discussed not only the participants but also the students of the Faculty of Environment, National University of Water and Environment. And using the principle of "practice is a criterion of truth", a symbolic end to the discussion summarized Academician of NAS Ukraine Hozhyk Petro Feodosiyovych offering to provide a real opportunity to "start digging" for the only licensed private enterprise LLC "Sun-Craft Centre" and to discuss at the next conference the real achievements and challenges on this difficult but promising path.
