During the event the distinct copy on scale of the winged figure of Archangel Michael created by the talented Ukrainian Artist and Sculptor Viacheslav Hutyria according ancient sketches was presented. The sketches were found by the staff of the National Reserve “Sophia of Kyiv”

The presentation was opened by Halyna Vasylivna Symkha, the chief of the project “Ukrainian Amber World” the main initiator and inspirator of the beginning of the revival of the relic.

The guests of the celebration were Deputy Minister of the Regional Development and Construction Ihor Sokolov, director of the National Reserve “Sophia of Kyiv” Nelia Kukovalska, the artist and singer Anzgelika Rudnytska,

Kyiv city consellor Oleksandr Bryhinets and other celebrities concerned about preserving the spiritual values and cultural heritage of Ukraine.

Magnificent Sophia of Kyiv is no doubt 1000-year symbol of Ukraine, magic voice of its people, wisdom, strength, talent, glory and spiritual unity of the nation.

One has got a strange feeling when they enter it and leaves behind crazy today like noisy Volodymyrska street, overcrowded Sophia square, confident quick steps of Kyiv citizens. The centuries vanish and holding your breath you step out into the history. That’s why “Ukrainian Amber World” project gave the start for charitable project "Figure of Archangel Michael’s Depiction Hoisted on the Steeple of the Southern Tower of National Reserve "Sophia of Kyiv" in XIII century. According to the church rites Saint Michael the Archangel is one of seven Angels of the Lord. His name means “who like God”. Michael was the very Angel who led God's armies against Satan’s forces and during the war in Heaven he defeats Satan into the Hell.Since then Michael became the leader of the army of God and meantime the heaven protector of those who fight for freedom and independence.None of evil thought or act remains hidden and in the same time none of healing kind-hearted act remains apart from the attention of the angels’ eyes.

Kyiv citizens honour Michael the Archangel since the early times as the advocate of Kyiv and Rus-Ukrainian people our distant ancestors.To touch the relic, winged figure of Michael the Archangel depicted for the present and future generation one can visit the Museum of Amber (the exhibition Hall of Warm Sophia, the Natonal Reserve“Sophia of Kyiv”).
